A new name has been added to a list of head coaching vacancies that want Bill O’Brien.
Georgia Tech joins Nebraska and Arizona State as a program expressing interest in Alabama’s offensive coordinator.
The news came Monday from ESPN’s Pete Thamel as O’Brien is second on the Yellow Jackets’ coaching search after Jamey Chadwell of Coastal Carolina. Georgia Tech fired Geoff Collins from its head coaching position after a 1-3 start to this season.
Names for Georgia Tech coaching job: Jamey Chadwell, Bill O’Brien, Jeff Monken, Troy Calhoun, Bill Clark, Bronco Mendenhall, Todd Monken, Charles Huff, Sean Lewis, Al Golden, Bryan McClendon, Dell McGee, Thomas Brown, Alex Grinch, Kane Wommack, Brent Key and George Godsey.

Brent Key, a former Nick Saban assistant, is the interim head coach for the Yellow Jackets. It will be interesting to see what O’Brien’s move becomes. He begins the Crimson Tide’s challenging gauntlet in the Southeastern Conference with Saturday’s matchup against Arkansas on the road. Alabama’s offense looked in sync versus Vanderbilt, but it needs to travel to Arkansas.
