A pivotal member of Alabama’s 2012 BCS National Championship team will not be at Bryant-Denny Stadium for a 10-year reunion celebration Saturday against Texas A&M.

Jesse Williams, a former Crimson Tide defensive lineman, helped anchor a front that allowed 10.9 points that year. He recorded 37 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack, four quarterback hurries, two pass breakups, and a blocked field goal. Williams, an Australian native, became a fan favorite and won a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks. He posted three photos to Twitter, detailing to fans that he will be at the game in spirit. Williams gave everything to the Tide as a former junior college transfer.

The 2012 national title team may be honored during pregame or at halftime.
