Since the eruption during the offseason, Nick Saban has been eager to put the dispute with Jimbo Fisher behind him and focus on the upcoming game on Saturday.
As much as both would like it to be over with, the public back-and-forth where Fisher called Saban a “narcissist” amongst other things, has been at the forefront of many’s minds leading into the game.
But it doesn’t appear to be on the radar of Saban’s players, for when he was asked during an interview with ESPN’s Chris Low, the head coach shared that there was no need for such discussion.
“This game isn’t about any of that, and our players don’t give a shit about it,” Saban said. “This game is about the goals we want to accomplish as a team and our players creating value for themselves. That’s why this game is important, not because of anything that was said about anybody.”
Alabama certainly does have much more motivation than the offseason feud between the coaches for the Crimson Tide’s only regular season loss came at the hands of the Aggies which is certainly something this group is looking to get payback for.
