A pivotal person behind the University of Alabama’s success in athletics is on the move.
According to reports, Georgia Tech has hired J Batt of the Crimson Tide to be its new athletic director. Batt has served as Alabama’s executive deputy director of athletics, chief operating officer, and chief revenue officer since 2017. He has overseen Crimson Tide Foundation, the ticket office, TIDE PRIDE, event management, facilities, grounds, and many other projects.

Batt was critical to the Tide renovating Bryant-Denny Stadium, Rhoads Stadium (softball), and the Mal Moore Athletic Facility.

He returns to the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) where he helped the North Carolina men’s soccer team capture an NCAA Championship in 2001. Batt saw two College Football Playoff National Championships (2017, 2020) and three Southeastern Conference titles (2018, 2020, 2021) for Alabama football.
