Bryce Young talked to the media after Tennessee defeated Alabama 52-49 in Neyland Stadium Saturday.

Young threw for 455 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. He returned to the field Saturday after suffering a shoulder sprain against Arkansas two weeks prior. The California native confirmed his shoulder was fine after the game, but he feels it is on him and Alabama’s offense to step up late when they have possession of the football.

“We just got to do a better job of, you know I think me personally really coming through when it matters, for you know when we have the ball  like that is on us to score,” Young said. “I think that is something we can learn from here for sure. It is just a tough lesson learned, but coach did a good job of reminding us God put stuff in our lives for a reason. It is a lesson, so we are going to watch the tape. We are going to figure out what we need to do better.”

The Alabama quarterback went on to say his impressive statline does not soften the blow of the loss.

“It feels great to be out there with my teammates,” said Young. “I love the game, and I love them. That was great, but at the end of the day, we loss.”

Young and Alabama will look to turn the page after the defeat. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner does not want to feel the ‘agony of defeat again.

“It is a tough loss. It means a lot to us. It means a lot to our state. We have to do a good job of bouncing back. We will cut on the tape. We will learn from it. The pain we felt, no one wants to feel that. We do not want to be reminded of it, but whenever you are reminded of it, it is something you do not want to feel. I never want to feel that again.”
