LSU and Alabama making big pushes for 4-Star LB Sterling Dixon

Sterling Dixon AFTER Mobile Christian victory

Multiple SEC programs are making a heavy push for Sterling Dixon.

Dixon attends Mobile Christian School in Mobile, Alabama, and he is a 2024 four-star recruit. He holds more than 30 D1 offers. The Mobile product commitment date is Dec. 1, and Alabama football is one of the schools standing out to the in-state prospect.

“I love Pete Golding,” Dixon said. “He pretty much hit me up every day. The biggest thing with Alabama is they are a winning team. They play with the best. That is really what I want to go out there and do, play with the best. That is the best of the best. If you go there, you are going to be developed by the best coaches in the world.”

Alabama hosted Dixon for an unofficial visit Saturday.

LSU is another program standing out to the the four-star recruit. The Tigers hosted him recently.

“I love LSU,” said Dixon. “Their coaching staff treats me really well. The culture there is tremendous. They send a lot of guys to the NFL and that is something I am interested in.”

Dixon helped Mobile Christian secure its playoff future with a win over Thomasville High School Friday. He provided constant pressure in passing situations and was effective at keeping outside containment in the win.

At 6-foot-3 and 211 pounds, Alabama is recruiting the Mobile product to play inside linebacker.

The Alabama target said he feels his backside pursuit and his ability to play in space have become a strength of his.

“Running down plays, honestly,” said Dixon when asked about areas he feels he has improved at this season. “When the play is going away from me, I try to just hustle and do what my coaches tell me to do.”

Arkansas, Auburn, Oregon and a long list of other programs are also in contact with Dixon for his future services. He is looking to find a home where he will grow on and off the field in the future.

“I am trying to get on the field as a freshman, but if I have to wait my turn, I will just wait,” Dixon told Touchdown Alabama. “It is really about just work, getting to the NFL and getting my degree in sports medicine or mechanical engineering.”
