As slim as it may appear, Alabama still has a chance to make the College Football Playoff.
Following its overtime loss to LSU last weekend, the Tigers now have full control over the SEC West. But with three games remaining the Crimson Tide still has a path to the SEC Championship Game, which is likely its only chance to be considered for a playoff birth.
In order for that to happen LSU would need to lose their remaining conference games against Arkansas and Texas A&M while Alabama wins out. The Crimson Tide would then need to win the SEC title along with some more shakeup in the rest of the college football world.
Within this entire scenario, ESPN ran through its own calculations and put a number to Alabama’s chances of making the playoffs.
There are now only four teams with at least a 1-in-3 chance to reach the College Football Playoff 👀

Although a path exists, the odds aren’t exactly in Alabama’s favor.
