Lane Kiffin feels Nick Saban is ‘phenomenal’ after a loss

Lane Kiffin and Nick Saban talk at midfield before the game

Lane Kiffin said he feels Nick Saban and Alabama are phenomenal after a loss.

Kiffin was able to see how Saban responded to losses during his stint as the Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator. Alabama lost two regular-season games with Kiffin on staff from 2014-2016. The Ole Miss head coach said Saban will address exactly what went wrong in Alabama’s loss to LSU based on what he saw from Saban during his time in Tuscaloosa.

“I thought he was phenomenal,” Kiffin said. “You would maybe expect it to be the other way like he comes in and everything is the end of the world like some coaches do. He does a really good job of addressing exactly what it was. And remember guys like Finebaum’s stupid statement, dynasty is over, They have lost two games by two plays. Both games could win either way. Alabama makes the field goal at Tennessee and two-point get stopped and their number one, number two team in the country coming in here. So we’re talking about two plays, two teams on the road and two of the hardest environments. So this is a great team and the best coach to ever do it.”

The last time Alabama was defeated in two games back-to-back was in 2013. The Tide will like to keep it that way when they travel to Oxford for a SEC West matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CST, and the game will be broadcast on CBS.
