Bryce Young talked to the media after Alabama defeated Ole Miss Saturday in Oxford.

Young finished the game with 209 passing yards and three passing touchdowns. The California native’s performance helped the Crimson Tide improve to 8-2.

Early in the game, Young was seen in the center of Alabama’s offensive huddle along with Nick Saban on the sideline. Young said that moment gave Alabama’s offense an opportunity to regroup after a less-than-ideal start.

“We just had to come in and be on one accord,” Young said. “Obviously, we did not start the game like we wanted to offensively. As a leader, coach Saban is always making sure that we are together. He came in and join and said some stuff to us, the offense to motivate us. I was trying to do the same, making sure we were all working on the same goal. We did not come out the locker room the right way, so we had to regroup on the sideline.”

Young was able to spread the football around Saturday, which allowed Alabama’s freshman wide receiver, Kendrick Law to have his most productive game of the season. Law pulled in three receptions for 26 yards. Young said he was proud of Law and his contributions in the win.

“K Law came in, obviously hadn’t played too much, but for him to come in a moment like this, a huge game, hostile environment as a freshman, that’s difficult to me,” said Young. “I’m super proud of him, super proud to see him go out there, give us a Spark..I’m super happy for K Law. He works really hard, so it wasn’t surprising me at all how ready he was.”

An AC shoulder sprain forced Young to miss a game earlier this season. He was asked about the current state of his shoulder after the game, and he replied with fortunate news for the Tide.

“I am good,” said Young. “At this point in the year, you play an SEC schedule, you are always going to be a little banged up.”
