Nick Saban is hopeful Alabama can find a way to get Tyler Harrell more opportunities as the Crimson Tide’s regular season comes to an end.
Harrell transferred to Alabama from Louisville during the off-season. He enrolled during the summer, and many felt he would make an immediate impact with his speed. A foot injury has limited Harrell for most of the season, but he is back healthy after sitting out multiple games.
Saban feels the wide receiver can help Alabama stretch the field.
“He is healthy now,” Saban said Monday. “He is learning. He is getting lots of reps. Guy has got really good speed, which I think would help us on offense. And I think we need to find ways to try to use him in certain situations that can be helpful to, giving us some explosive vertical plays down the field, which there has been a lack of recently. He is making really good progress.”
The Florida native made some big plays during his time at Louisville. He finished the 2021 football season with 523 yards and six touchdowns on 18 receptions.
Harrell has only recorded one reception this season. That catch went for 12 yards.
