Alabama loses its fourth player to the NCAA transfer portal this month, and it is a playmaking wide receiver.
Christian Leary, a former four-star in the 2021 class, had the potential to be an elite player.
He brought in exceptional speed from Edgewater High School (Orlando, Fla.), but Leary was never utilized. After a breakout A-Day game performance in the spring, offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien did not take advantage of his skill set. Leary announced his decision Wednesday via Twitter to enter the NCAA transfer portal, and Crimson Tide fans are going crazy. They understand why he is leaving, but Alabama nation is very sad to lose an athlete that can burn defensive backs with his acceleration.
Waste of speed and talent 🤦

This one is going to hurt. He actually has great speed and it will be utilized wherever he goes. Best of luck 🤞🏾

This was inevitable. Bama has recruited consistent 4 & 5 stars at receiver the past couple years. Just for majority to sit on the bench behind players they are better than. This is once again Nick Saban and Bill O’Brien’s fault. https://t.co/HbmhKBrlMN
