Coaching staff changes may be coming soon for Alabama football, but the exodus of players is happening.
Six athletes entered their names into the NCAA transfer portal in November. One removed his name — Khyree Jackson — but he will re-enter next Monday.
Alabama football with six players entering the transfer portal this month:
-RB Trey Sanders
-CB Khyree Jackson
-OL Damieon George Jr.
-WR Christian Leary
-OL Tanner Bowles
-WR Traeshon Holden— Stephen M. Smith (@CoachingMSmith) November 30, 2022
The Crimson Tide mostly had offensive players in the portal, including Trey Sanders (running back), Traeshon Holden (wide receiver), and Christian Leary (wide receiver). Tide fans were shocked to see Leary enter the portal, especially with his potential as an elite speed receiver. The former four-star from Florida caught five passes for 106 yards and a touchdown during this year’s spring game. Bill O’Brien, Alabama’s offensive coordinator, never utilized his skill set in games.

We could see more players hit the portal after the postseason, but several fans reacted to the names already leaving.

Can’t blame young men to try and better themselves. They tried Bama, it didn’t work for them. I wish them luck moving forward, we shouldn’t be down on kids especially when we go out and bring transfers in too. It’s a different situation now with NIL and not having to sit out.

I hate to see kids leave, but I am really pulling for Trey Sanders. I was excited when he came to TTown, and he has had some really tough breaks. I am hoping for the best for him, as well as the others.

Sometimes addition by subtraction works, and sometimes these guys just wanted more playing time and were not going to get it at Bama.

All of these players were not a key factor for this football season! But I wish them well. Next man up!

Will be replaced with better or as good!
