Alabama has its third senior and first offensive skill position player to accept an invitation for the Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
Cameron Latu came to the University of Alabama as a four-star outside linebacker from Utah in 2018.
He had potential on defense, but Latu made a bigger impact on offense as a tight end. He made the switch in the summer of 2020, but he exploded onto the scene in 2021. The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder set the school’s single-season record for touchdown catches by a tight end (eight) last year. He finished this regular season with 25 catches for 323 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Latu joins Byron Young and DJ Dale to participate in the Senior Bowl.
He projects as a Day 2 draft pick (second to third round).
Latu helped the Tide to three Southeastern Conference Championships (2018, 2020-21) and a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2020.
