Nick Saban is on his way to having a Unanimous First Team All-American player this year for Alabama.

Will Anderson Jr., an outside linebacker, finished his sophomore season as a Unanimous All-American in 2021.

He picked up Bronko Nagurski, Chuck Bednarik, Rotary Lombardi, and Lott IMPACT Trophy awards last week.

Anderson is a two-time Defensive Player of the Year for the Southeastern Conference and permanent team captain via his teammates. He now adds Consensus First Team All-American to his list of accomplishments this season. The Associated Press became the third major selector to name Anderson a first-team All-American — joining Walter Camp Football Foundation and Football Writers Association of America. He needs two more selectors to name him as a first-teamer to become a two-time Unanimous All-American. Anderson totaled 51 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, 12 quarterback hurries, a pass breeakup, a blocked field goal, and an interception returned for a 25-yard touchdown. He projects as a top five pick for next April in the NFL Draft.
