Raymond Pulido backed off his pledge to Alabama Monday to pursue an opportunity out West, per his father, and his decision has opened the door for Alabama football to add another prospect.
Pulido was a massive addition to Alabama’s 2023 recruiting class at 6-foot-7, and he has the potential to grow into a great offensive lineman at the next level. It is no secret Alabama wanted to add offensive tackles during the 2023 recruiting cycle. Alabama commits, Miles McVay, Olaus Alinen and Wilkin Formby all have experience lining up at tackle at the high school football level.
Pulido would have given the Tide another tackle, although he could play guard at the next level as well. With Pulido heading to Arizona, the Tide have their eyes on Kadyn Proctor, who is considered to be one of the nation’s top offensive linemen.
Proctor visited Alabama last weekend, and the Tide, Oregon and Iowa are hoping he calls their respective program’s name Wednesday and signs a National Letter of Intent to play football. If Proctor was to choose the Tide, it would fill the hole Pulido left and make Alabama’s offensive line class even stronger.
Proctor will announce his final decision Wednesday morning.
