Former Alabama QB Paul Tyson transfers to Clemson

After leaving the Crimson Tide at the conclusion of the 2021 season, Paul Tyson is now headed to his third program.

It was announced on Wednesday, that Tyson, the great-grandson of Alabama legend Paul Bear Bryant has committed to play at Clemson next season.

Tyson originally signed with the Crimson Tide in the class of 2019 and after redshirting his first season he appeared in one game during the 2020 campaign backing up Bryce Young and Mac Jones. He would later serve as the primary backup to Young during his Heisman Trophy-winning season in 2021.

Following the national championship loss to Georgia, Tyson entered the transfer portal where he would eventually end up committing to Arizona State. During his one season with the Sun Devils, Tyson appeared in only one game and did not attempt a pass.
