Desmond Ricks announced his commitment to Alabama and signed with the Crimson Tide Thursday.
Ricks is a product of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, and he is rated as a five-star recruit. The Alabama signee is set to enroll at UA in January as an early enrollee.
Alabama beat out LSU and Florida to secure a commitment from Ricks. The Virginia native reclassified from the 2024 to the 2023 recruiting class. He told Touchdown Alabama he knew Alabama would develop him if he were to chose them.
“They are known for just producing,” Ricks said. “That is what Alabama does. If I go there, I know that is somewhere I will definitely be developed. I feel like they are deep into defensive backs. Coach Saban is actually out there coaching defensive backs himself. That means a lot.”
