Ty Simpson, a true freshman, got the birthday dump into the cold tub Wednesday by his teammates.

He came as a five-star in Alabama’s 2022 recruiting class via Martin, Tenn. Simpson led Westview High School to a state championship during his senior season in 2021. The 6-foot-2, 198-pounder played in four games this season, but the new one-time postseason waiver from the NCAA allows Simpson to play in the Allstate Sugar Bowl without burning his redshirt year.

He will get opportunities against Kansas State; however, how many reps could he see?
Coach Nick Saban and Bill O’Brien will have Simpson ready to work on New Year’s Eve.
