Alabama football had a few offensive linemen enter the NCAA transfer portal.
Names such as Javion Cohen, Tommy Brockermeyer, Amari Kight, Tanner Bowles, and Damieon George have found new homes in college football. Depth took a hit on the offensive line, but the Crimson Tide signed another haul of linemen during the early period of National Signing Day. A few linemen have participated in Allstate Sugar Bowl practice, including Wilkin Formby, Ryqueze McElderry, and Myles McVay. JC Latham, a sophomore, spoke to reporters after Tuesday’s practice about the players that have stepped up. According to a video from Chris McCulley of ABC 33/40, Latham named a former four-star who has emerged.

“Everybody has stepped up, especially in my group,” Latham said. “You can’t get a grasp on everyone who has to step up, but the guys that have stepped up in my group have been Tyler Booker, Terrance Ferguson, Elijah (Pritchett), and James Brockermeyer. I don’t want to forget anybody, and there have been the freshmen who came in early that have stepped up too.”

Latham said Booker has been ‘consistent’, Ferguson has done ‘well’ despite being thrown into the mix, and Brockermeyer has become a ‘crucial’ guy. Brockermeyer arrived in the 2021 class as a Texas legend. He chose the Crimson Tide over Oklahoma, Texas, and SMU. The 6-foot-3, 282-pounder was one of the top center prospects in the recruiting cycle, and he is starting to put things together at Alabama. The Tide will need its offensive front to be at its best against a formidable Kansas State defense.
