Ellis Robinson holds alabama trophies during alabama visit

Ellis Robinson announced his top five Saturday via Twitter, and he included Alabama football.

Robinson is a five-star recruit out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He is originally from Connecticut, and he is considered one of the top defensive backs in the 2024 recruiting class. Colorado, Georgia, Miami and LSU rounded out his top five.

Alabama’s coaching staff has been working to build a relationship with Robinson over the last several months. Nick Saban and Travaris Robinson have both made efforts to stay in contact with the junior.

“I pretty much saw everything last time I was there,” Robinson told Touchdown Alabama after he visited. “The barbecue was really nice. We played games, ate and I got to talk football with coach T-Rob (Travaris Robinson). The conversation with coach Saban was different this time around. We talked more about me and how I fit into what they do. He told me there will be an opportunity to play as a freshman.”

Robinson also has a relationship with current Alabama players and commits. He and Alabama’s freshman offensive lineman, Tyler Booker, are both from the same town. Robinson had an opportunity o connect with future Alabama players during one of his summer visits.

“I had a chance to talk with Caleb Downs and Jaylen Mbakwe,” Robinson said. “They just wanted me to know why Alabama is the place to be. I also got to spend time with my boy, Tyler Booker. I am learning it takes a special player to go to Bama. It’s a culture there that’s different than any other school I’ve been to.”
