The families of Bryce Young, Will Anderson Jr., and Jahmyr Gibbs shared tears of joy Monday at the Mal Moore Athletic Facility.

All three players declared for the 2023 NFL Draft after finishing the 2022 season with a 45-20 victory over Kansas State in the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

According to Nick Saban, Young, Anderson, and Gibbs have top round draft grades. Gibbs, a transfer from Georgia Tech, excelled as a running back and wide receiver in his lone season in Tuscaloosa.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pounder had 926 rushing yards, 444 receiving yards, and 10 total touchdowns.

He led Alabama receivers for catches (44) and displayed versatility that allowed the Tide to win 11 games. Gibbs represents today’s NFL running back, including Christian McCaffery and Alvin Kamara.

Anderson detailed for reporters about why NFL teams need to take Gibbs high in the first round.

“Whoever gets him is getting a huge pick,” he said about Gibbs. “I am super excited to see what his future is. His cuts are ridiculous, his top end speed is crazy. It is crazy trying to catch him down field. Any team that gets him is going to be blessed.”

Alabama was blessed to have Gibbs last year.

He projects as a top 20 player, but Gibbs can go anywhere in the first round. It will be interesting to see where he lands.
