After a victory in the Allstate Sugar Bowl, Alabama football had a long snapper to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

Gabe Pugh, a walk-on from Tuscaloosa, Ala., opened 2023 on Sunday by going into the portal.

He arrived on the University of Alabama campus in 2019 from Northridge High School.

The 6-foot-5, 273-pounder did not play in a game across four seasons, but Pugh prepared the starters to be successful. He played on two Southeastern Conference Championship teams (2020 and 2021) and a College Football Playoff National Championship team in 2020. Pugh will have his degree in Mechanical Engineering in May and has two years of eligibility left.

He is ready to see what the future holds for him.
