To’oto’o arrived on the University of Alabama campus as a transfer from Tennessee in 2021. He led the team in tackles (113) and totaled 8.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, two quarterback hurries, two pass breakups, and a forced fumble. To’oto’o assisted the Tide’s defense to a Southeastern Conference Championship and a College Football Playoff appearance. He returned as an experienced leader in 2022, posting 89 tackles (second on the team), seven tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and a quarterback hurry.

The California native earned first-team All-SEC honors from the league’s coaches. To’oto’o accepted an invitation to play in the Reese’s Senior Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 4 in Mobile, Ala. His departure to the pros opens the door for Deontae Lawson, Kendrick Blackshire, or Justin Jefferson (junior college transfer) to possibly start next season.
