Alabama head basketball coach Nate Oats takes shot at Tide football fans

Alabama head coach Nate Oates addresses the crowd after their 80 to 79 win against LSU in the SEC Men's Basketball Tournament Championship game

The University of Alabama’s head basketball coach Nate Oats took a light-hearted jab at Alabama football fans when discussing the Crimson Tide’s basketball squad upcoming matchup against Kentucky.

Alabama basketball is currently ranked No. 7 heading into its matchup with the Wildcats Saturday. Oats discuss the basketball blue blood’s fans becoming restless due to the teams performance this year during a recent press conference.

“If they are not No. 1 in the country, they get restless,” Oats said. “They are spoiled. It is a little bit like Alabama football fans to be honest with you. Like, we are not in the College Football Playoffs and everybody is upset and acts like it is a bad year.”
