Alabama’s leader for total tackles in 2022 is heading to the NFL Draft.
DeMarcco Hellams, a safety from Washington, D.C., made his pro decision official via Instagram.

He arrived t as a four-star in the 2019 class. The 6-foot-1, 208-pounder finished last season with 108 tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack, seven pass breakups, a quarterback hurry, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and an interception.
He has been among the team’s top tacklers in each of the last three seasons.
Hellams has accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl and helped the Tide win two Southeastern Conference Championships (2020 and 2021). He assisted the Tide to a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2020. Tide fans want to see Hellams excel at the next level.
