The most entertaining and essential part of Alabama football is facing a battle right now.
Eli Gold, a long-time radio broadcaster on Crimson Tide Sports Network, shared he has been diagnosed with a “treatable” cancer.

He missed calling games in 2022 because of health issues, and Tide fans missed his voice all year. Nick Saban released a statement on Gold via Alabama football’s Twitter account. The 71-year-old said he is comforted that Gold is getting the best care as he looks to get back into the broadcast booth soon. Gold has been the voice for Tide football for over 30 years.

He’s been a part of all six national championships under Nick Saban.
