Alabama men’s basketball coach Nate Oats is pursuing his 13th victory of the season.
The Crimson Tide, who is ranked No. 7 in the nation, is battling Kentucky at Coleman Coliseum. Nick Saban guided the football program to 11 wins in 2022, including a 45-20 victory over Kansas State in the Allstate Sugar Bowl. He and Miss Terry showed Oats support by coming to watch the basketball team. Katie Windham of Bama Central (Sports Illustrated) captured the moment.

Saban’s success in football has rubbed off on the basketball program.

In the 2020-21 season, Oats took the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. Alabama finished the season at 26-7, winning a Southeastern Conference regular season championship and SEC Tournament Championship. He earned SEC Coach of the Year honors that year and continues to build forward. Saban will look for his eighth national title — seventh at Alabama — next fall, but it is good to see him supporting the basketball team as Oats pursues another NCAA tourney run.
