D’Angelo Barber reported an offer from Alabama football Saturday after the Crimson Tide’s Junior Day.

Barber currently attends Clay-Chalkville High School in Alabama. He is a member of the 2024 recruiting class, and the Crimson Tide are the fifth program to offer the physical linebacker.

Nick Saban confirmed Barber’s offer from Alabama Saturday during Junior Day. The Pinson, Alabama product said he felt grateful to sit down with Saban during his visit.

“My first thought was it is crazy being in the same room as somebody like this, especially just knowing where he stands in history. Not just in football but in sports,” Barber said. “It was great just being in the presence with somebody like Nick Saban, that’s been coaching for years and he is very good at what he does. Alabama is definitely a place I am considering.”

Barber had an opportunity to learn a little about the Alabama football program as a whole during Junior Day.

“It was good,” said Barber. “I was able to see a lot of things that I liked beyond the football aspect of it.”

At 6-foot-1 and 225 pounds, Barber is a physical linebacker who plays with a chip on his shoulder. He displayed the ability to diagnose a play early and attack it during the 2022 football season. Saban had high praise for him during their conversation.

“They all saying about the same thing,” Barber said. “They say I am very physical, a downhill player and Coach Saban said I am one of the best players he has seen.”
