As a native of Washington, D.C., Lewis played outside linebacker for the Crimson Tide from 2016 to 2019. Pruitt was Lewis’ defensive play-caller from 2016 to 2017, assisting the Tide to a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2016.

Lewis watched Pruitt coordinate the most dominant defense of the Nick Saban era in 2016. The Tide posted 54 sacks, 118 tackles for loss, 80 quarterback hurries, 17 forced fumbles, eight fumbles returned, 16 interceptions, and 11 touchdowns. Pruitt is one of the hottest names to replace Pete Golding as defensive coordinator for the Tide. He is a marquee name with Jim Leonhard (Wisconsin) and Glenn Schumann (Georgia). We will see who Saban chooses, but Lewis wants Pruitt to come back.
