Malik Blocton has seen his recruitment hit another gear over the last week.
Blocton now holds 37 D1 offers after earning an offer from Alabama football Thursday. The Pike Road High School product is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after 2024 recruits in the country.
Nick Saban informed Blocton of his offer from the Crimson Tide Thursday when Saban visited Pike Road High School and informed his head coach.
“It is kind of surreal because I have been wanting to play for him since I was a little kid,” Blocton told Touchdown Alabama. “I grew up watching him. For him to come all the way down to my school to offer me, it is crazy to me.”

The Pike Road product has already established a relationship with multiple members of Alabama’s coaching staff, but he wants to grow those bonds.
“I had a good relationship with Coach Kelly before he left,” said Blocton. “I got a good relationship with coach Roach, and I knew Coach Wolford because he was recruiting me when he was at Kentucky. So, my relationship with the staff is good.”
Georgia offered Blocton Tuesday, and he said the Bulldogs’ offer felt good because it showed his hard work paid off.
“Their defensive line coach kept it real with me,” Blocton said. “I went up there and camped last summer. He told me I was not ready for the offer, But when he seen my film this season, he said he had to offer me.”
At 6-foot-4 and 265 pounds, Blocton flashed with his power, his ability to get after the quarterback and by being hard to block. He feels he made major strides as a pass rusher.
“The thing that I improve was my pass rush,” said Blocton. “Before this year, the sacks I was getting, it was not really off me pass rushing. It was the other defense linemen flushing the quarterback my way, and I am just picking up the sacks. This year, I was actually getting to the quarterback, sacking him in the pocket, and not getting sacks because he is rolling my way.”
Blocton plans to visit Alabama and Georgia in March.
