Eric Handley is working to show he is a complete quarterback after throwing for 40 touchdowns through 13 games as a junior.
Handley attends Pleasant Grove High School in Alabama. He currently holds offers from Kentucky, New Mexico, Troy and UAB. Tulane and Memphis are showing interest in the junior but have not offered him.
The Wildcats offered Handley when he was a freshman.
“I actually got Kentucky my ninth-grade year, going into my 10th-grade year,” Handley told Touchdown Alabama “The current offensive coordinator (Liam Cohen) who is there again, he is the one who offered me a scholarship. Me and coach Cohen are honestly really tight. We spent a lot of time together. I obviously had a teammate go to school there, Jakobi Albert. So, we would go up there a lot. He is a great football mind, runs a nice pro-style offensive, comes from an NFL background.”
Handley threw for 2,921 yards and 40 touchdowns during the 2022 football season. He also completed 68 percent of his passes.
At 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, Handley has a cannon for an arm. His ability to push the ball down the field jumps out on film, but he wants to become more of a threat with his arm and feet.
“Everybody knows I can throw the football,” Handley said. “I got the mind to play quarterback. It is just, can I get the explosive run for 20 yards here and there? That is what they want to see. I am working on it.”
