Jonah Winston reported an offer from Alabama Monday via Twitter.
Winston is a freshman at Hoover High School, and he is the younger brother of NFL quarterback, Jameis Winston. The 2026 recruit now holds two SEC offers with offers from Alabama and Texas A&M.
The freshman told Touchdown Alabama he has dreamed about getting this much attention from Power 5 programs.
“It feels amazing,” Winston told Touchdown Alabama. “I have always dreamed about what it would be like to get offers from schools. For it to be Alabama, it is crazy.”
Alabama recently hosted Winston for an unofficial visit. He got a good feel for the program during his trip to Tuscaloosa.
“For me being there for a day, I see why they are at the top of college football,” Winston said. “Their program is amazing.”
At 5-foot-10, Winston has flashed as an explosive wide receiver and dual-threat quarterback in the past. He is looking to improve his knowledge of the quarterback position in the future.
“I want to get continue to become a smarter quarterback,” said Winston. “I want to be able to know every coverage better than I already do.”
