The alums for the Crimson Tide had good moments, but one stood out from the rest. Cameron Latu earned Practice Player-of-the-Week honors from his peers as a tight end for the American team. The linebackers and defensive backs he practiced against could not handle him. He showed growth as a blocker, speed and precision in his routes, and consistently made plays. Latu came to Alabama in 2018 as an outside linebacker, but he moved to tight end in 2020. He was productive in two seasons as a starter, catching 56 passes (12 for touchdowns) in 2021 and 2022. Latu was on three Southeastern Conference Championship teams (2018, 2020-21) and a College Football Playoff National Championship team in 2020. He increased his value this week.
