He did not have many starting opportunities for Alabama football, but Eli Ricks is preparing for the NFL Draft.
In one season with the Crimson Tide, the California native played 10 games — including five starts. He battled a shoulder injury coming from Louisiana State University, but Ricks earned his first start against Mississippi State. He totaled 13 tackles, a tackle for loss, and four pass breakups. All his breakups came against Mississippi State. The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder decided to forgo another season of college and declare for the draft. He is training with Oliver Davis II, a defensive backs specialist, at Sweet Feet Performance Training. Davis said Ricks ‘might be the biggest sleeper at the cornerback position’ in this year’s draft.
@eliasricks might be the biggest sleeper at the CB position in this years draft. If you’ve been following his career since HS, you get it. I believe he’ll have an immediate impact in the NFL. Long, Athletic, great instincts, competitive, great ball skills.. ⏳#SFSP 🏁1% pic.twitter.com/NkZiBeJoA8
