In the last couple of months, a debate has surfaced online and in media circles as to which school can “claim’ Jalen Hurts as their own.
On Saturday, the Alabama Football Twitter account put that debate on pause with a video showcasing the hard work that Hurts has put in ahead of Super Bowl LVII. Oklahoma even commented on the video saying “Boomer Tide!”
"It's not about where you came from, it's about where you're 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜."

The phrase “It’s not about where you came from, it’s about where you’re going” encompasses Hurt’s journey to achieving NFL success perfectly.
When he was drafted by the Eagles in the 2nd round of the 2020 NFL Draft, many people believed that this was a reach by Philadelphia and that they didn’t need a quarterback because they had Carson Wentz. In the video, you can hear Stephen A. Smith, Shannon Sharpe, and Dan Orlovsky all doubt his abilities.
The video ends with Hurts saying “I had a purpose before yall had an opinion.”
