Despite being on the losing end, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts gained the respect of all following his performance in the Super Bowl.
Hurts set a Super Bowl record running for three touchdowns in the game while also tying the rushing yards record with 70. He also got things done through the air completing 27 of 38 passes for 304 yards and another touchdown through the air.
All season long Hurts has faced questions about his ability to step up and become an elite quarterback. There have been loyal fans of his along the way defending him at every corner, and following Sunday’s loss he gained another in Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
During his postgame press conference following his second Super Bowl victory, the league’s MVP made an emphatic statement regarding Hurts saying that there shouldn’t be any doubters left of the Eagles quarterback.

“If there were any doubters left, there shouldn’t be now,” Mahomes said following the 38-35 win. “I mean the way he stepped up on this stage and ran, threw the ball, whatever it took for his team to win. That was a special performance and I don’t want it to get lost in the loss that they had.”
Although he may have come up short, what’s unquestionable is the amount of respect Hurts gained from his big-time performance.
