Jaylen Mbakwe is feeling the heat from other schools, but he feels his commitment to Alabama is still firm.
Mbakwe is a product of Clay-Chalkville High School, and he is rated as a five-star recruit by most recruiting sites. He is one of the Crimson Tide’s two 2024 defensive commits. The five-star feels an interesting group of other programs is showing heavy interest in him at the moment.
“Clemson, Auburn, Oregon, Miami, Florida Tennessee,” Mbakwe told Touchdown Alabama when asked about which schools are recruiting him hard outside of Alabama.
LSU recently hosted Mbakwe for an unofficial visit. The Tigers also offered Mbakwe a track scholarship after he won the state championship in the 60-meter dash in the class 6A state championship for Clay-Chalkville.
Mbakwe does have interest in LSU.
“It is high, but I am very locked in,” Mbakwe said.
There are no visits planned for Mbakwe at the moment, but he is looking really good on the football field heading into the spring.
Mbakwe put together a great performance at the TruXposur Championship 7v7 over the weekend.
