Former Alabama wide receiver Traeshon Holden who transferred to Oregon in December has now been dismissed from the program following an arrest on Wednesday. The news was first reported by Scoop Duck.
According to Lane Country, Oregon’s online jail records Holden has three charges against him by Eugene police including menacing, unlawful use of a weapon and coercion. The menacing charge is listed as a misdemeanor while the unlawful use of a weapon and coercion charges are filed as felonies.
Oregon head coach Dan Lanning also released a statement regarding Holden’s dismissal.
“We are aware of the incident involving Traeshon Holden, and he has been dismissed from our team,” Lanning said. “We have high standards for the student-athletes, coaches, and staff in our football program, and we are disappointed when these standards are not met. We will continue to hold everyone in our program accountable for meeting our expectations.”
Holden spent three seasons with the Crimson Tide seeing his first time as a starter come in 2022 when he caught 25 passes for 331 yards and six touchdowns. Despite beginning the year as a starter, Holden’s role would ultimately shrink later on in the season which would ultimately end with him in the transfer portal.
