Auburn football’s defensive back commit, A’Mon Lane is happy with the direction the program is heading in.
Lane attends Moody High School in Alabama, and the junior is one of the Tigers’ three 2024 commits. He garners a four-star rating from multiple recruiting sites.
The Moody product committed to Auburn when Bryan Harsin’s was the Tigers’ head coach.
“The previous staff with Coach Harsin, we had a really good relationship,” Lane said. “They talked to me every day, so around my commitment, I was going to pick LSU or Auburn. Auburn made the push, especially when we had a seven-on-seven at Auburn and we won. After that, they took me in the office and talked to me one-on-one. They told me they wanted me to start the class off.”
Hugh Freeze was hired by Auburn after the Tigers fired Harsin. Freeze and Auburn’s new staff have made Lane feel more than welcome.
“They show even more love,” Lane told Touchdown Alabama. “Like coach Freeze, He came to see me like three times. He has been busy, but he had three chances to come see me.”
Auburn has added two 2024 recruits to its 2024 class since hiring Freeze. The Tigers have their eyes on multiple 2024 targets, including an in-state running back, Lane really wants in Auburn.
“I want Phat (Jamarion Burnette),” said Lane. “That is who I really want.”
