Former Alabama quarterback, AJ McCarron came up big in the fourth quarter of his XFL debut.

McCarron, who played for Alabama from 2010 to 2013, led the St. Louis Battlehawks to a comeback victory late in the game. The Battlehawks were down 9-0 to the San Antonio Brahmas heading into the fourth quarter. The Brahmas’ lead eventually grew to 15-3.

The Mobile, Alabama product started to go to work with less than two minutes left in the game by throwing a touchdown pass with 1:25 left to cut the Brahmas’ lead down to six points. He converted a three-point conversion on the following play to make the score 15-12.

McCarron came up big again later in the game by throwing a game-winning touchdown pass to put the Battlehawks up 18-15.  The former Alabama quarterback threw for 133 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

The Battlehawks and McCarron will return to action Thursday when they take on the Seattle Sea Dragons.
