He created the “Hurts So Good” phrase during his time at the University of Alabama, and now it’s part of a clothing line.

Hurts made the statement, “Rent is Due” with the Eagles, and hats were made off it. His latest creation came before Super Bowl LVII as he told reporters, “I had a purpose before anyone had an opinion” in his press conference. Josh Gerben, a trademark attorney, has reported via Twitter that Hurts has filed a patent to trademark his quote for a clothing line. He was not in college when NIL (name, image, and likeness) started, but he has created compensation with his words.

Hurts comes off a career season for the Eagles where he was a finalist for NFL’s Most Valuable Player and Associated Press Offensive Player of the Year.
