Alabama LB commit Sterling Dixon recruiting for Tide

Sterling Dixon

Alabama football’s four-star linebacker commit, Sterling Dixon had his recruiting hat on Saturday for the Crimson Tide en route to winning the defensive line MVP Award at the Under Armor Next Camp in Atlanta Saturday.

Dixon attends Mobile Christian School in Alabama, and he is one of the Tide’s four 2024 commits.

Alabama’s coaching staff has been through a couple of coaching changes since Dixon committed. The Mobile product has seen Pete Golding and Charles Kelly leave Alabama’s staff, and have witness Austin Armstrong depart for Florida.

However, Dixon remains committed to Alabama, and he wants to help the Tide recruits some of their top targets.

“I am going to try to get up to Alabama much as possible because I know that is where I want to go play,” Sterling told Touchdown Alabama. “I want to just get a new feel for the new inside linebackers coach and really just started trying to recruit guys. I just got done talking to Malik (Blocton) a while ago, David Calhoun, pretty much guys here that I know are going to come up and try to play with me. I am going to have to compete and go up against those guys each and every day to get better. I am just trying to make sure I am recruiting and doing the right thing.”

The Alabama commit had an impressive day at the Under Armour camp Saturday, taking home the MVP Award after an impressive showing throughout. Dixon said the camp gave him a good feel of his current skill level.

“They showed me where I stood, what I had to work on, like far as technique,” said Dixon. That is going to be the biggest thing, just getting my technique right and then really just using my hands a little bit more. I feel like I did great in the drill work.”

Auburn and Florida are a couple of the schools still showing Dixon a lot of interest.
