Pinson Valley DB Tevis Metcalf to visit Alabama and Auburn

Tevis Metcalf continues to show why he should be considered one of the top defensive backs in the nation.

Metcalf went into the Under Armour Next Camp in Atlanta Sunday as not one of the more talked about prospects. Most recruiting sites had him listed as a three-star recruit despite an impressive offer list.

The three-star rating will most likely not stick for long as he took home the defensive back MVP award after an impressive showing.

“I know I am not recognized as much,” said Metcalf. “My plan was to come in and show them I am one of the top guys that they got here because when I checked that list, my name was not on there. I just had to show them who I was.”

Metcalf’s stock is trending upwards with a busy visit schedule ahead.

“I got Auburn coming up on the third and then I got Alabama on the fourth,” Metcalf told Touchdown Alabama after his MVP performance. “I do not know the exact dates, but I am supposed to be going to North Carolina, Florida and then I might camp at Clemson.”

Auburn has offered Metcalf, and he has built a good relationship with their coaching staff. Alabama has not but an offer from the Crimson Tide would be a big one to Metcalf.

“It would mean a lot, considering how many National Championships they won, how many players they put in the league and considering they are in my home state.”

The Pinson Valley product is considering making a decision before or during the football season.

“I been leaning towards maybe the summer, but if not, it will be during the season,” said Metcalf.
