Lewis attends Salem High School in Virginia. He is seeing his recruitment continuing to grow as Alabama, Maryland and Purdue all offered him Thursday.
The Virginia product recently found out Alabama was interested in him.
“I had already talked with coach (Robert) Gillipsie, and he had informed me about their interest,” Lewis told Touchdown Alabama. “Coach (Joe) Cox called me to get to know me because he would be the one recruiting me in the future. We talked for a bit then he asked for a callback and my mind was racing with a thousand possibilities about what that could be about. He told me the great news, and I was extremely blessed to be given the opportunity.”
Lewis went on to say it was hard for him to hold back his excitement when he found out about his offer.
“I was extremely excited, very hard to hold my enthusiasm,” said Lewis. “It is the top-tier football program in the country, and I am blessed to be given the opportunity to play there.”
The new Alabama target is listed at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds. He is a multi-sport athlete, who recently took home a 55-meter indoor state championship medal for the second time with a time of 6.37 seconds. He has also won a state championship in the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 10.62 to take home a gold medal last year.
Lewis’ speed translates over to the gridiron, and Nick Saban likes what he sees from the 2024 recruit.
“They said they like my speed, and coach Saban was raving about my film,” Lewis added.
