The Battlehawks took the lead right before halftime on this throw by McCarron, and on their first possession of the second half they built on the momentum going up 20-17. From that point on, the Defenders dominated, scoring on three possessions to make the lead 34-20.

St. Louis battled their way back into the game and cut the deficit to six points after this back-of-the-end zone throw to Steven Mitchell, followed up by a two-point conversion. Unlike the first two games, the Battlehawks were unable to overcome their struggles in the second half and fell short.
McCarron was 26/42 for 262 yards with a career-high four touchdowns. He had a 91.5 rating but threw two interceptions in the loss. In three XFL games, he has thrown for 636 yards and totaled eight touchdowns.
The Battlehawks will take on the Arlington Renegades Sunday, March 12 at 3 PM CT.
