Alabama football has its eyes on one of the top rising 2024 prospects and four-star recruit, Malcolm Ziglar.
Ziglar attends Fuquay-Varina High School in North Carolina. He now garners a four-star rating from multiple recruiting sites and his recruitment is on the rise in a major way.
The North Carolina product saw his recruitment receive an uptick in late January when power five programs began to get in contact with him. His first ACC offer came from Wake Forest on Jan. 24. The Deamon Decons’ offer was followed by offers from North Carolina, Duke and Maryland.
Ziglar is grateful he has an opportunity to play football at the next level with more than 15 D1 offers next to his name.
“It feels great,” Ziglar told Touchdown Alabama. “It has always been a dream of mine, and I am glad I can finally live it out.”
SEC programs, Vanderbilt and South Carolina have both joined in on Ziglar’s recruitment.
Alabama football looks poised to be the next SEC program to get involved with Ziglar. The Crimson Tide’s tight end coach Joe Cox has been in contact with the special talent. An offer from the Tide is something Ziglar would like to have.
“It would be great,” said Ziglar. “It is definitely a place I would like to visit and get to know the staff.”
At 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, the four-star recruit possesses elite speed, which is credited to his track background. He is an All-American track star, who can run a sub-11 100-meter dash. He also can reportedly clock in a 4.38 forty.
Ziglar made plays at cornerback and safety during the 2022 football season. His speed made him a threat to put points on the board every time he came up with the football as he returned three of his six interceptions for scores. His physicality was displayed when he came downhill to break up passes, make tackles in space and when he was the first player down on kick off. He also created some magic on offense at wide receiver.
Nick Saban and Alabama have made the push to add long, fast, physical and athletic defensive backs to their roster as of late.
Ziglar checks all those boxes and more.
