Isaia Faga feels receiving an offer from Alabama was a special moment for him and his family.
Faga attends Central Phenix City High School in Phenix City, Alabama. He garners a three-star rating from most recruiting sites, and the 2024 recruit is verbally committed to Utah.
Alabama jumped in on Faga’s recruitment Saturday when Nick Saban offered him.
“That was a humbling experience,” Faga told Touchdown Alabama. “The greatest coach to ever coach the game of football offered me an opportunity to play for him in front of my mom, pop and papa. I just felt thankful for that. I was blessed with that opportunity in front of the people who made it happen.”
The high standard Alabama football and Nick Saban have in place really stood out to Faga during his visit.
“From what I took away from the visit, if you are not all in, you are in the way,” said Faga. “I love that. You will practice against the best of the best everyday and the culture there to me is the best part about Alabama. They do not accept mediocrity.”
The Tide will get the Utah commit back on campus a couple of more times in the future.
“I will be back for the spring game and in the summer to camp with coach (Freddie) Roach,” Faga said.
At 6-foot-2 and 275 pounds, Faga is an explosive and strong interior defensive lineman for the Red Devils.
