Jackson freshman QB Landon Duckworth collecting SEC offers

Landon DUCKWORTH

Landon Duckworth is garnering attention from major power five programs after an impressive 2022 football season.

Duckworth is a freshman at Jackson High School in Jackson, Alabama. He holds four Division 1 offers, including three SEC offers at the moment.

Arkansas was the first program to offer the freshman. TCU, Vanderbilt and Texas A&M have followed suit. The Aggies and Commodores offered Duckworth earlier this week.

The Jackson product said he feels thankful for the opportunities he has earned.

“It means a lot,” Duckworth told Touchdown Alabama. “I am thankful for the college coaches, who believe in me so early, makes me want to work even harder.”

College coaches have mentioned they are impressed with Duckworth’s arm strength, speed and size.

At 6-foot-3 and 187 pounds, Duckworth threw for 1,985 passing yards and 20 touchdowns on 110-of-183 passing as a freshman. He also rushed for 355 yards and eight touchdowns.

Duckworth feels his deep ball was one of the bright spots in his game last season. He is working on adding to and improving his game during the off-season.

“This past season, I think I did well throwing the deep ball and making plays with my feet,” said Duckworth. “I am working on cleaning up my mechanics and getting them smoother. I feel I’m on the right track with that right now.”
