Jalen Milroe enters his third season at the University of Alabama with a lot of motivation.
He gets an opportunity to prove some fans wrong and show the college football world he can put the Crimson Tide back on top as national champions. Milroe, a native of Katy, Texas, arrived in the 2021 recruiting class for the Tide as a four-star prospect.

We have seen his abilities in the run game, but Alabama fans are excited to see his growth as a passer.
Milroe totaled three passing touchdowns in his first career start versus Texas A&M. He replaced an injured Bryce Young and pushed the Tide to a 24-20 victory at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder has marquee potential, but the governor of Texas does not see him as a threat in week two of the 2023 season. The University of Texas travels to Tuscaloosa (Ala.) on Sept. 9 to take on Alabama football. Greg Abbott watched Young make several incredible plays last year, including a huge run late in the fourth quarter to set a game-winning field goal. Young led the Tide to a 20-19 victory in Austin, but Abbott does not see this kind of playmaking ability from Milroe. Ryan Autullo, Texas politics reporter for the Austin Statesman, has a quote of Abbott taking an unnecessary shot at Milroe. He said Milroe is no Young, in terms of his ability to make plays.
When I attended a business luncheon yesterday, I did not expect a deep dive from Gov. Greg Abbott into the Texas-Alabama football game. The audience got more than it was expecting. #txlege pic.twitter.com/cYB6loHBVw

Abbott has the Longhorns defeating Alabama, 27-21 in Tuscaloosa.
Milroe now has a chance to silence the governor of his home state.
