Marquez Daniel has the physical gifts needed to become one of the nation’s top college football prospects in a few years.
Daniel is just a freshman at Booker T. Washington High School in Tuskegee, Alabama. However, his recruitment is in motion with an offer from the Penn State Nittany Lions.
Daniel told Touchdown Alabama it feels great to have the attention of college football programs at such an early age.
With one look at the 2026 recruit, it is not hard to figure out why he is garnering attention at the moment. He is tall with an extremely long frame at 6-foot-5, but his size is not the only reason why he is projected to be a top prospect. Unlike other young prospects, who are lanky and a bit uncoordinated, Daniel plays under control with impressive movement as a route runner.
Daniel’s height makes him an obvious mismatch, especially at the high school football level. However, he has also shown an ability to be a threat to create separation before the ball is thrown, which is something coaches are liking about Daniel early on.
“Coaches really like the way I run my routes,” said Daniel.

Booker T. Washington uses the freshman on both sides of the football as he plays snaps at safety. His ability to move fluently is on display here as well along with his physicality as he will comes downhill to make some effective tackles in space.
